Two softball tournaments will occupy back-to-back weekends on the diamonds in Lloydminster, with Battle on the Border from June 21-23, and U11 Advanced Provincials from June 29-July 1.
The Battle on the Border hosted by 222’s Fastpitch and Lloydminster Liners will see 40 teams in U11-U17 playing at the Driven Energy Legion ballpark, Jaycee Hill ballpark, and Bud Miller Park.
The first game begins at 3:00 p.m. at Legion Park with U15B Maidstone Lakers taking on U15B Lloyd Liners. Then on Saturday at noon is the skills contest. More information is available at 222sfastpitch.com.
Then, it’s the U11 Advanced Provincials happening over the Canada Day weekend from June 29 to July 1. Nineteen U11 teams from across Alberta will take the field at the Legion Ballpark and Jaycee Hill Diamonds. The opening ceremony is on Saturday, June 129 at 9:00 a.m. on the Legion field.
