Sask hunters asked to submit samples as province tracks CWD

Saskatchewan hunters in areas from St. Walburg, Turtleford, the Battlefords, Pierceland, Loon Lake, and Meadow Lake are being asked to submit samples of animals to be tested for Chronic Wasting Disease or CWD.

Wildlife officials are particularly interested in samples from wildlife management zones 2W, 9, 10, 37, 47, 50 and 55. Some of these areas are just northeast of Lloydminster including zones 47 and 55.

The Ministry of Environment asks hunters to submit deer, moose, and elk samples. The last day for sample drop-off for CWD testing for the 2023-24 hunting season is Sunday, January 21st, 2024.
