Beginning in March Albertans who rely on the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped or AISH and Income Support payments will receive these funds four business days before the first of the month.
Government officials say this will allow the beneficiaries more time to pay their bills.
Also, recipients will be advised to update any automatic bill payments when they receive their February 2024 direct deposit slip/cheque.
Some 76,000 Albertans receive AISH benefits and about 50,000 receive Income Support benefits.
