The Opening and Closing Ceremonies for this year’s Saskatchewan Summer Games in Lloydminster will be sponsored by Cenovus Energy.
The City of Lloydminster is welcoming the community partner on board for the July 21-27 sports showcase.
“We are so excited to welcome Cenovus as our Ceremonies Sponsor. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies are where it all comes together. Whether it’s the electric anticipation in the air during the Opening Ceremony or the proud sense of achievement at the Closing Ceremony, these events will fully display the connection, camaraderie, and unbelievable energy that only the Games can bring. We are so grateful to Cenovus and their commitment to energizing the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Lloydminster,” say 2024 Games Co-Chairs Wendy Plandowski and Aaron Rawlake.
Some 1,800 athletes in 14 different sports including Archery, Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Canoe Kayak, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Special Olympics – Bocce, Swimming, Tennis, Triathlon, and Volleyball will be in Lloydminster for the Games.
“Cenovus supports organizations that bring our communities together and deliver significant impact, whether social or economic,” says Nicolas Zaher, Vice-President, Lloydminster Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil Operations at Cenovus. “The Saskatchewan Summer Games certainly does that by showcasing a competition of the province’s top athletes to celebrate sport, togetherness, and achievement.”
