Water testing for Saskatchewan beaches during summer

Water testing results for some popular Saskatchewan beaches including some near Lloydminster will be online during the summer.

The beaches near Lloydminster that will be tested and results posted include Brightsands, Battlefords Provincial Park, Cochin Public Beach, Macklin, Ministikwan, Kimball Lake, Stabler Point Beach, and Aquadeo Public Beach.

The province will collect water samples bi-weekly from June through September to determine whether water quality meets the Canadian Recreational Water Guidelines.

More information is available online.

Meanwhile, for beaches in Alberta, you may visit AHS, Alberta Parks and Swim Guide websites to get information on water quality and advisories.

For example, Battle River at the Riverdale Mini-Park beach is currently listed by AHS as having elevated levels of fecal bacteria.
