The Macklin & District Fire and Rescue have had to tend to many similar hay bale and ditch fires over the past couple weeks leading them to suspicion, according to their Facebook.
“With the frequency of these very similar call types the Macklin & District Fire Protection Board has decided to offer a $3000 reward for information leading to the discovery and apprehension of the individual/individuals involved.”
They’re also requesting that any individuals in the Macklin coverage area who have their hay in ditches haul them back to their property.
The Macklin Fire & Rescue has spent multiple hours fighting these suspicious fires.
“Just remember that every time we get called to something like this it takes precious time and resources which could potentially lead to response issues if there were to be a life-threatening situation in another location of our coverage area.”
