No Stone Left Alone ceremony, Nov. 2

Over 400 poppies will be placed on headstones this Saturday, Nov. 2 as No Stone Left Alone (NSLA) will hold its ceremony to honour service members who are buried at the Lloydminster Cemetery.

Youth from Ecole St. Thomas, Lloydminster Scouts and the 186th Air Cadets will participate in the ceremony and the laying of the 428 poppies, says NSLA site representative, Amy Hrynchuk.

The formal part of the ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. with several dignitaries in attendance, including MP Rosemarie Falk, mayor of Lloydminster, Gerald Aalbers, MLA Colleen Young, and Sgt. Munro from the Canadian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, with Remembrance Day on Nov. 11, the Lloydminster Legion is already at various locations across the city selling poppies and encouraging people to honour those who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
