The Spark Foundation, previously known as Lloydminster Interval Home is slated to receive funding from The Government of Saskatchewan under the National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence.
This major investment will provide enhanced programs, supports and tools for communities across Saskatchewan.
The funding includes money to build capacity in transition homes and second stage housing facilities, provide learning resources on healthy relationships to Saskatchewan residents, support enhanced early intervention for families at risk of violence, and develop additional tools to ensure appropriate responses to survivors and perpetrators of interpersonal violence.Â
For the Spark Foundation they’ll receive $40,000 for Second Stage Housing Capacity along with another $40,000 for Transition Home Capacity.
Minister Responsible for the Status of Women Alana Ross said, “Our government remains committed to preventing interpersonal violence and abuse in all forms.”
Justice Minister and Attorney General Tim McLeod adds, “I am grateful to all our partner organizations for collaborating with us on this, and the work they do across Saskatchewan to address and prevent gender-based violence.”

In total, Saskatchewan is investing a $3.8 million to 16 agencies over the next two years. This funding will also go to community based partners for programming and advocacy.
