Groundbreaking for new Edgerton lagoon

The Village of Edgerton is on the way with its new lagoon and force main project.

The project which has been eight years in the making is seen as shaping future development in the community.

“This project not only addresses our community’s current needs but also positions Edgerton for future growth. With a sustainable, modern wastewater system, we’re creating a foundation for attracting new residents and businesses,” says the Village in its announcement for the ground-breaking on Mar. 11.

The new lagoon site is east of Edgerton on 54 Avenue and costs some $2.3 million. The project is expected to be completed by September.

Officials see the project as “a transformative moment for the community—an investment that will ensure long-term environmental health, economic opportunity, and responsible development.”

Edgerton is thankful for the support of the governments of Alberta, and Canada, and the M.D. of Wainwright for their funding contributions.

Updates will be shared on the Village’s website.
