Woman charged at Vermilion court with drug possession

Vermilion RCMP have charged a suspect who was in the court building with possession for trafficking.

On Mar. 17, Alberta Sheriff’s at the Vermillion Provincial Courthouse reported that someone may have had illicit drugs at the court.

When Vermillion RCMP arrived, they found 35-year-old Frances Meesto of no fixed address with a quantity of suspected fentanyl in individual baggies.

Along with possession for the purpose of trafficking, Meesto was charged with failure to comply with Undertaking.

Meesto was brought before a justice of the peace, where she was remanded. The suspect is to return to Alberta Court of Justice in Vermillion on April 7.
