Driving support for a new Jubilee Home

Supporters to fast track a new Jubilee Seniors Home are writing the Saskatchewan health minister.

They are asking you to lend your signature to the cause by copying the letter and forwarding it to Jeremy Cockrill’s office.

The Lloydminster Concerned Citizens for Seniors Care notes in the letter that “recently, windows had to be replaced (at the Jubilee) due to severe rotting. The facility will soon reach end of life in many of its components, including outdated safety and design standards for the comfort of patients living there.”

The 50-bed facility was built in 1985 to replace a previous building from 1958. The proposed replacement will have 180 spaces.

The Concerned Citizens for Seniors Care notes that about “40 to 50 Saskatchewan seniors are taking up beds in Lloydminster Alberta facilities for many years.”

You may access and print the letter using this online link to the Health Minister’s letter.

The proposal document for replacing the Jubilee was sent to the health minister last fall.
