The Saskatchewan health minister missed a very lively meeting as the Concerned Seniors drummed up their case for a replacement for Lloydminster’s Jubilee Seniors Home.
On Wednesday, June 18 with the caucus meetings of both Alberta and Saskatchewan taking place at the Lloydminster Exhibition, Jeremy Cockrill was in Lloydminster but was called away after the meetings.
However, MLAs James Thorsteinson, Kim Gartner, and Colleen Young met with the Lloydminster Concerned Citizens for Seniors Care to discuss the need to replace the Jubilee Home and provide more spaces for seniors care on the Saskatchewan side of Lloydminster.
The Concerned Seniors are leading a letter-writing campaign and await an in-person meeting with the Saskatchewan health minister at which they will present nearly 3,000 signatures and counting.
The Concerned Seniors will continue their letter-writing campaign until the in-person meeting can be scheduled.
The meeting heard several concerns about the existing Jubilee Seniors Home and the shortcomings of the building.
