Two men from Edmonton who were nabbed in a bi-provincial police bust in Maidstone will get their turn to respond to drug trafficking charges next week in Lloydminster.
On June 1, a westbound vehicle was stopped near Maidstone on Highway 16 following the combined efforts of Alberta RCMP Serious and Organized Crime Unit and Saskatchewan RCMP Roving Traffic Unit.
Police seized four large bags containing 90 kilograms of methamphetamine and 65 kilograms of cocaine with the combined value of about $4,000,000.
The methamphetamine has been tested and resulted in purity levels as high as 100 per cent and the cocaine test results came back as high as 86 per cent, state police.
As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Sahilpreet Grewal and 20-year-old Parminder Singh, both of Edmonton were charged with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
The suspects are due to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m.
