A new playground on the way for St. Joseph Elementary

After 5+ years of fundraising, St. Joseph Elementary School in Lloydminster will be getting a new community playground costing about $200,000 to complete.

The Lloydminster Catholic School Division shared their exciting news with a fun, social media video created by Narra Studio on Feb. 27, 2025. The new playground will feature 10 swings, multiple climbing apparatuses, a few bouncy teeters, gliders, four slides and a bouncy tippy canoe. The area covers 864 square metres to serve the 372 kids in junior Kindergarten.

The design of the play space is complete. The playground is on order. Breaking ground for the park is set for this spring with a ribbon cutting slated for mid-June.

President of the St. Joseph Community School Council, Candice Sarrazan credited grants as well as initiatives such as families donating beef to raffle off.
