Former head coach of women’s basketball, Christopher King is suing Lakeland College for wrongful dismissal.
In a Statement of Claim filed at King’s Bench, St. Paul on Mar. 11, the former head coach is seeking relief for:
- General damages for wrongful dismissal – $181,700.00
- Aggravated damages – $100,000.00
- General damages for loss of reputation – $200,000.00
- Costs and pre-judgement interest
Golden Ticket Sports – a company owned by Christopher King is seeking:
General damages for negligence – $300,000.00
Golden Ticket Sports is listed as an athletics and sports training company owned and operated by King as a corporation with two other people.
King was terminated as Rustlers head coach by the College on Dec. 5, 2024 following an internal investigation which the College did not release any details.
Lakeland College had 20 days to file its statement of defence. MyLloydminsterNow has reached out to the court to get a copy of the document.
